Current situation: Our acommodation-problem is solved for now. Although Andrei already has a couchsurfer for the next days, we can sleep at his place - thanks! Last evening we spent together cooking and making music, Andrei on his accordion and off-tune-piano, we on our small guitar.

Episode 3: Babushka (part 2)

At first we thought, we hadn't pronounced the Kazakh orders for going (khkhkhkhkhkhkh) and stopping (Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh)correctly and it has simply been a problem of communication. Then we met a curious old man, working with a scythe on the field, who told us: "The baggage is no problem, but this donkey is already grandmother and too old for such a long journey. Good luck." We renamed her from Ishak (Russ. donkey) to Babushka and adapted ourselves to her speed. The jeep became a Trabi.

At noon we started to get even slower, but this time not because of Babushka. 2 hours later, we were lying flat on grazing land near a village, Nora with diarrhea, Albin with sickness. Probably bad water. Babushka enjoyed the unexpected stop, eating during the rest of the day. In the evening a man from the village visited the scene and decided we should better sleep in his house. Fortunately there was nothing left anymore in our stomaches, so we slept like stones and could leave next day.

To be continued...
